The Use of Sulpiride in Schizophrenic Disorders

Abstract

Sulpiride is a m em ber o f the substituted benzamide group of drugs. It has a selective type-2 dopamine receptor antagonist Claims have been m ade that it does not cause significant depressive, stimulant, autonom ic o r cardiovascular effects, and produces less extrapyramidal disturbance than other neuroleptics. In this article the use o f sulpiride in schizophrenic patients was reviewed.

Selektif tip-2 dopamin reseptör antagonisti olan sulpiride, benzamide ailesinden orijinal bir bileşimdir. Depresif, stimulan, otonomik ve kardiyovasküler etkilerinin olmadığı, diğer nöroleptiklere kıyasla daha az ekstrapiramidal bozukluğa neden olduğu ileri sürülmektedir. Bu makalede şizofrenik bozukluklarda kullanımı gözden geçirilmiştir.
