New Antipsychotics: A Review

Abstract

New antipsychotics differ from the old, classical antipsychotics by their mechanism of action and side effect profiles. Studies suggest that these drugs carry some advantages in the treatment of treatment-resistant schizophrenics and negative symptoms of schizophrenia. In this article, the new antipsychotics are reviewed with the aid of most recent literature.

Yeni antipsikotikler eski, klasik antipsikotik ilaçlarından etki mekanizmaları ve yan etki profilleriyle ayrılırlar. Araştırmalar bu ilaçların tedaviye dirençli şizofreninin negatif bulgularının tedavisinde bazı avantajlar taşıdığını göstermektedir. Bu yazıda, konuyla ilgili son yayınlar ışığında yeni antipsikotik ilaçlar değerlendirilmektedir.
